In the spring of 2008, NIE Energy, supported by the Department For Social Development Northern Ireland (DSD) initiated a project to explore non standard energy saving and renewable energy options for harder to treat properties in Northern Ireland.

The overall objective of the Harder To Treat (HTT) intervention was to apply a “whole house” approach to energy efficiency and renewable energy, and to monitor technical performance and customer satisfaction through a variety of different evaluations.

The University of Ulster monitored the customer satisfaction aspect of the pilot, and this report gives details of the results.
