NEA NI regularly commissions LucidTalk to conduct NI representative polling on energy affordability, fuel poverty, and its impacts.

In the absence of up-to-date official government data on the levels of fuel poverty in NI, this annual poll is an important resource to inform our policy and advocacy, as we work to deliver solutions that end fuel poverty.

LucidTalk Limited is a Polling and Market Research company based in Belfast. The results of each poll project for NEA NI are representative of NI opinion to within an error +/-2.3% at 95% confidence.

For this project, online polling was carried out by LucidTalk over a period of 4 days from 12 to 15 September 2025. The project targeted the established Northern Ireland (NI) LucidTalk online Opinion Panel (16,000+ members) which is balanced by gender, age-group, area of residence and community background to ensure it is demographically representative of Northern Ireland.

1,793 full responses were collated, and a data auditing process was carried out to ensure all completed poll-surveys were genuine ‘one-person, one-vote’ responses.
